Bharti Airtel has made a new tie-up with Google that will provide users free service of 100GB of Google One cloud storage. But the service is available for Airtel’s postpaid mobile and broadband (Wi-Fi) customers only, who will receive a free subscription of Google’s cloud service for 6 months at no additional cost. Cloud storage offer is now live and available to Airtel postpaid and broadband subscribers , bharti Airtel has introduced a fresh collaboration with Google that will provide consumers with free use of 100GB of Google One cloud space. But the facility is available only to Airtel’s postpaid mobile and broadband (Wi-Fi) customers, who will receive a free 6-month subscription to Google’s cloud service without any additional charge.
As per Airtel, the 100GB cloud storage benefit will be made available for 6 months from the time of activation. The benefiting customers can avail the benefit from the Airtel Thanks app, where a toggle to activate the Google One storage plan will be provided. Post-activation, users will get access to the 100GB storage on Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail.
The deal is its cross-platform compatibility with both Android and iOS. Furthermore, the users will be able to share their storage plan with a maximum of five additional individuals. This may be especially beneficial for families or small groups of people who wish to have all their files and backups organized in one plan without having to pay per user.
Airtel providing free 100GB cloud storage: Key points to consider Once the 6-month free duration ends, users will be asked to pay a nominal Rs 125 per month if they want to continue with the Google One subscription. If users do not opt to renew the service, their access will be revoked to this 100GB free storage space, but their current files won’t be deleted immediately. Google usually informs users several times before taking away access to provide them with sufficient time to download or move their data somewhere else.
Google One’s 100GB plan costs Rs 130 per month or Rs 1,300 a year. This implies that Airtel users who make use of the 6-month complimentary subscription will save around Rs 780, considering the monthly plan price.
It should be noted that Google already offers 15GB of cloud storage free to all users with a Google or Gmail account. This limit applies to all Google products such as Google Drive, Photos and Gmail. When it is reached, users will be asked to switch to a paid Google One plan. The Airtel-Google bundle essentially adds this amount of free quota for 6 months, providing users with a broader buffer for handling their digital content.
Airtel 100GB free cloud storage: Availability information to the cloud storage deal is live and can be accessed by Airtel postpaid and broadband subscribers in India. Users who are interested can go to their Airtel Thanks app and check if the deal has been enabled on their account and enable it by a couple of taps on their screen. Another piece of information is that existing users who are already on the Google One membership program will also be eligible for the offer, aside from the new ones.
